Press Centre

The Press and Communications Department (PCD) is responsible for presenting and promoting Britain and British Government policy, in short the British Government's Public Diplomacy in India. PCD oversees the work of the various organs of the British Public Diplomacy throughout India and liaises with other entities such as the British Council, VisitBritain and the Department for International Development India to ensure a co-ordinated effort across the country. The Head of PCD is the official Spokesperson for the High Commission.

PCD provides a wide range of services, including reference information on all aspects of Britain; publications covering British Government policy as well as television and video services. It is also the base for http://ukinindia.fco.gov.uk

PCD co-ordinates all media operations for the UK Government including press conferences and interviews by visiting Government Ministers. It is also responsible for public diplomacy events.

E-media Unit
The E-media unit is responsible for the day-to-day management of http://ukinindia.fco.gov.uk. Any matter regarding these pages, including requests for links, should be mailed at web.newdelhi@fco.gov.uk.

The section is also responsible for arranging e-media interviews (Television, Internet, Radio) for High Commission events, ministerial visits.

Languages Section
The Languages Section produces press releases in Hindi and Urdu, and keeps in close touch with the Hindi, Urdu and other languages media. It also publishes Sameeksha, our Hindi magazine and British Jayeza, our Urdu magazine.
