The British High Commissioner to India Sir Richard Stagg, KCMG, CMG is the representative in India of Her Majesty the Queen. He is responsible to the British Government for all aspects of therelationship between our two countries.
Political Department
is responsible for political relations between the UK and Indian Governments.
Trade & Investment Section
is the UK Government's trade and investment promotion vehicle. It is also responsible for trade policy and economic relations.
British Trade Offices: Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Chandigarh and Pune.
Business Information Centres: Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar.
Visa Department
is responsible for providing Visa and entry clearance services for those wanting to travel to the UK.
Consular Department
provides consular assistance and protection for British citizens. It also issues passports. We also have a Consular Office at Goa .
Defence Department
is responsible for all aspects of the defence relationship between UK and India.
Management Department
is responsible for all personnel and financial resources and provides support to all front line departments
Press and Communications Department
is responsible for presenting and promoting the UK and British Government policy in India.
Programme Funding Department
In 2003 the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office launched the GlobalOpportunities Fund (GOF). The purpose of GOF is to promote action onglobal issues in areas of strategic importance to the UK.

British Council Division
is responsible for activities in education, English language,governance, science and the arts. British Council has its offices in New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai.
British Libraries: Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune
Department for International Development
is responsible for implementing the UK's development assistanceprogramme. Its priority is to work with the Government of India towardsthe elimination of poverty in India. DFID also has its offices in New Delhi, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Hyderabad, Kolkata.
